Jean Nichols taught in public schools in New York State, Virginia, and California for thirty-four years. In 2001, she and her colleagues at Twin Oaks School in Rocklin, California, completed the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style video seminar during faculty meetings and implemented the method in their classrooms. As a result of student progress and teacher enthusiasm, the district brought Andrew Pudewa to Rocklin to train elementary teachers, resulting in improved student writing district-wide. In 2012 Jean joined IEW as an Educational Consultant and now supports the Schools Division team as an administrator. She and her husband live in Northwest Arkansas.
